Igor Kormyshev
Born.1959, Moscow
An artist, gallery owner since 1993 and a member of the International Confederation of Antique and Art Dealers. In 1977 he graduated from the Moscow Theater Art and Technical School with a degree in the ‘Stage decoration and props of the play’.
Since 1994 participates in the exhibitions, including Art Nocturne Knocke (Knocke-Heist, Belgium, 2018, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013), Vera World Fine Art Festival (Lisbon, Portugal, 2014), Art Gent (Gent, Belgium, 2013), Moscow World Fine Art Fair (Moscow, Expocentre, 2012), Bergamo Arte Fiera (Bergamo, Italy, 2009), ARTE contemporanea moderna ROMA (Rome, Italy, 2008), Photo Biennale (Moscow, 2004), Art Manege (Moscow, Manege, 2002, 2001), Art Salon (Moscow, Manege, 2001, 2000), Arte Padova (Padua, Italy, 1995).
17.12.2002 at the Alexandrinsky Theater in St. Petersburg in the framework of the International Festival 'Exercise' was shown the premiere play 'Picnic' (dance). Scenography by Igor Kormyshev.
Winner of the 3d and 7th Moscow International Art Festivals Traditions and Modernity in the direction of 'Painting' in the nomination 'For the preservation of tradition in modern painting' (2009), 'For the bright originality' (2013).
His works are in The Museum of Chocolate ad Cocoa History (Moscow) and The Museum of New and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto M.ART (Rovereto, Italy), in private collections in the United Kingdom, Belgium, Russia, Italy, Germany, France, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, The USA, Canada, Spain.
Igor Kormyshev treats art as the ground for experiments, reinventing the old media and searching for the new ones and alongside with it for his own style and identity. His works draw the viewer into playing with various art movements such as impressionism, expressionism, symbolism and surrealism. Igor Kormyshev creates not just ‘a piece of art’ but ‘projects’ combining different arts - painting, graphics, photography, text, and dance.
